The Cage

Time means nothing
in this cage.
Broken down by silence,
I pray for the day I
Get to see the
Sun.
Trapped,
Like a wild animal,
I howl;
Time means nothing
in this cage.
Hunger comes, sometimes
leaves, cold concrete
chills my body to
Freeze.
Alone,
With only the voices,
I mourn;
Time means nothing
in this cage.
We’ve stopped eating
Until our demands
are met.
Hunger continues,
Bodies ache,
Minds are fragile,
But nothing matters because
Time means nothing
in this cage.
