Do Not Look For Me

Do not look for me in empty fields;
Scarred darkness in the dirt reveals
nothing new to your heart.

Scattered seeds in cracked earth
tell the story of life,
But we’ve heard it before.

Bring your eyes to fresh pasture,
Ears fed with noise in
harsh Germanic tongue;

On these bright grey paths you’ll
find the gleam of my new soul,
Broken like our earth,

Crawling around dead hills and marsh we
find alpha and omega,
Shadowed in our own light.

Do not look for me in empty fields;
I am not there.
I am not there.
