Fingers and Hands

In the sixteenth year
as the earth raced,
Something in the light
changed like colours
and flowers in the sun.

A breath of life
stormed through my chest
up on the hill,
Guided by fingers and hands,
Their furious rush,

An unknown high of
gasping wide eyes,
Wrapped in trouble,
Drawn on deep lips
as they tremble –

In the sixteenth year the earth raced.
