Sleep

If I should die,
Leave my window open.

The planes overhead,
Carrying lovers abroad.

The mower next door,
Keeping the gardens clear.

The quiet strolling cat,
Mewling for a snack.

The excited barks,
Calling out to another.

The bellowing cars,
Angered by burning fuel.

The emotive workers,
Complaint after demand.

If I should die,
Leave my window open.

I would like to hear
as the world still turns.
