You Might Need Somebody

Summer found exchange
in some blank speech,
Trapped in a bright darkness

radiating from the skies
before, dripping again as
their brothers rise,

Singing in howls from
cold rivers that stop.
Smiling warmth fell

to the black ground
beneath foot, walked
from point to nowhere.

Mystery echoed unknown
behind empty walls
where I wept and wept

and wept.
