Barefoot

Fingers tapped like damp forests,
Filled with mystery and meaning.
Our thoughts were stripped bare
to be understood in listed form.
Leaves of wisdom fell gentle and
calm into these rough, waiting hands.

The mind raced through gratitude,
Unseen, unheard and unknown,
Silently screaming with a smile.
She could not have known how
I needed what was freely given,
But given it was still free.

Nothing mattered beneath the rains,
Hanging from the lonely branches.
Words hid like the bowing sun.
Nothing mattered but her shelter,
Empathetic leaves of love.
Words hid like the bowing sun.

Fingers tapped like damp forests,
Filled with mystery and meaning.
Our thoughts were stripped bare
to be understood in listed form.
Leaves of wisdom fell gentle and
calm into these rough, waiting hands.
