Warm Coat and Tired Feet

I walked until the photogenic
burst from everywhere and
everything streets touched.

Dreams passed by in flashes,
Obstructed by metal sheets of
yellow dragging them away.

Walls stood and watched
eruptions of life below,
Twitching in the hard winds,

Bodies shivering beneath in
tunnels that swallow draughts,
Tight rolled for their journey.

Between neatly drawn lines,
Waves of green that blow
with dirty brown crested peaks,

Sheltered prints from feet
resting in the tired cold,
Lit by distant city lights.

I walked until the photogenic
burst from everywhere and
everything streets touched.
