Weeping Hills

Air became still
as cars passed,
Burning breath that

hung in the wind with
voice that spoke without
aim, heavy thoughts

fallen in darkness.
Troubles counted the
days, stretched,

Pulled as they sped,
slowed, borrowing steel
hammered down.

Lights moved,
Temporary visions for
sudden confusion.

Paths laid and
wept with the hills,
Crushed by a

black weight that
poured from the sky,
Drunk with a

sadness from love.
