La Rupture

Dark grounds bleed petals,
Scattering with changing winds,
Grazing the walls left
marked by burns and steel.

Voices echo from the parks,
Churned mud and discarded
remains of packs, of arms,
Wrested from body with night.

Red settles with memories,
Above the angry hearts,
Flowing with rage’s feet to
follow a future’s awakening,

Growing in neat rows on
fields crossing the expanse,
Each facing their dream,
Defiant to their own death –

Dark grounds bleed petals,
Scattering with changing winds,
Grazing the walls left
marked by burns and steel.
