Blackout

White light bright
burns the view of sky
and rising feet,

Brought to see
nothing, pouring from eyes
that heard voices

echoing from fading walls,
Carried in and out
with furious absence,

Panicked lifting to fall
in anxious damp
that tastes, tastes

thick air and breath
struggling
with crumpled lines

in their rhythm,
Skipping and jumping
into slipping angles,

Down to an abyss
on right flank
and alone,

Unheard except for
excuse, the second,
Drifting

black, black, black.
