Lights Still Burn

Deep waters drown the dark
beneath a sheet of ripples.

There it lies, and smothers,
two unextinguished lights.

Cast out into black cold
with brass and steel hail.

Memories remain on the paths.
Bright reflections. Permanent.

Strangers pass and remember
names that refuse to be forgot.

Deep waters drown the dark
beneath a sheet of ripples.
