Through Nights Dark and Starry

Peace swam with disorder
beyond the ocean’s rim.

Hidden, beneath jungle floor,
Seeds burst and grew

where farmers planted roots,
And dug open lines.

Boots and flames brought
light to touch the earth,

Skimmed from mountain peak
for broad plains below,

Holding the clouds over
until came the night.

Then, dark skies brought
their shivering stars,

their longing moon,
Painted as a bright map

for the shining thousands
hidden beneath jungle floor,

As peace swam with disorder
beyond the ocean’s rim.
