Summer Rains

Silent arcs fall
from the deep sky,
And slow with the
world as it turns.

Summer rains melt
on tired street.

Feet swing past and
drip and drop.
With all else they
search for a shade.

Summer rains melt
in frigid gaps.

Grey slides endless
past distracted faces,
Safe behind panes
of working glass.

Summer rains melt
with quiet rage.

Silent arcs scar
the thick, warm air.
Summer rains melt
and drown dark ground.
