Summer’s Dreams

She is the wind that circles
around spire and dome,
Above life that looks in awe
at beauty in colour and stone.

I retreat to the water’s cool,
Face brushed by gentle hand
that dances with tree’s leaves,
And dream a summer’s dream.

How the blues blend as one,
Clear together with their love,
Passing compliments from
endless lips with deep sighs.

I am a pilgrim, come to hear
the tale of distant romance,
Ever in hope, for the peace
of grace in melting hearts.

  1. There’s a suitably airy feel to this one, as though the references and images are just beyond the cusp of description and it’s the feelings inspired by summer dreams which are as impactful as the images within the dreams themselves.
    A very pleasant read.
