All I can hear is the Shofar

And in a moment,
with horn’s sound,
came down the walls.

Only silence remains
to be disturbed by
a howling red,

wrapped in a shawl,
marked with a now
distant smile.

Time forgets the things
no longer present,
without memorials

outside of swirling tears,
and desperate fate,
and shattering dreams.

Questions are up next.
Barbed, unfair,
pointed like a weapon.

They cut through flesh
and explore naked truth,
no longer hidden.

Blood red mouthfuls
spit honest thoughts
on an empty room.

Alone in loneliness,
weeping by the rain,
lost in the vastness

of unfulfilled desires
that fight in the dark
void as it grows.

And, in a moment,
with horn’s sound,
came down the walls.

Only silence remains.
