Spurn the Dust

Take the world into
your shivering hands.
Hold it up to the fire
that rages on the street.

Mould the earth like
your flesh, in its image,
until it looks back
with a human face.

Paint with the boxes
of flowers kept by the
window, casting their red
petal colours to the pavement.

Take the world, your home,
into your shivering hands,
back from the silver cold
and seven pieces.
