Adrift

Plunged into the waters
where dark clouds feed
and warm currents follow,
we drag with the stream.

Stones spin as they move
beside desperate breaths,
grasping for a cold air
trapped above lip’s reach.

Time shrinks beneath waves
keeping tempo on worn rock,
as they are both wanted,
as they are both despised.

Blue-white reclaims the salt
as it was won by earth,
waiting to cast on the fields
before the coming swamp.

Plunged into the waters
where dark clouds feed
and warm currents follow,
we drag with the stream.
