Down with the Old South

The summer sky fills with rage,
pavement burning like a fire.

Echoes of the dying past fall
with current blood and bile.

Once proud statues crumble
into lumps hurled like change.

The difference of the future
bursts through a crack in the storm.

Our martyrs, with clenched fists,
are here to replace your hate.
