In the Evening Light

In the evening light
I locked my eyes
on your glowing form.

I drowned my thoughts
with golden curves
that faded into the night.

Our voices carried over
London’s darkness,
those softly spoken words.

But now you are gone,
and the streets have changed
in the cold light of day.
